COMMISSIONS

Painting is a creative process. I never know what a painting will look like until it’s completed. That’s what creativity is, to me. With that in mind, commissions are happily accepted with the guidelines below.

  • Specific subject requests only go so far as “floral” or “branch and vine”. The final look and design of the painting is up to the artist.

  • You may request a specific color theme (such as green, pink, yellow, white, etc.), but how that is presented in the finished piece is up to the artist.

  • Depending on the size of the canvas, paintings may take up to six months to complete.

  • Paintings are done primarily with Golden brand acrylic paint. However, other brands may be used if needed.

  • Paintings are delivered unframed, on stretched canvas.

Cost

  • Commissions usually run between $2500 - $35,000, depending on size of canvas

Payment

  • Three-quarter payment of total price is required to begin a commissioned painting.

  • Final quarter payment is required upon completion, before delivery of painting.

Approval process

  • The client will be sent three photographs of the work as it progresses. The client must approve of the work at each of the three stages for the work to continue. Upon completion, the artist will provide a photograph of the finished painting to the client. If the client is not happy with the work at that point, the client may cancel the commission and not make the final payment. In this event, the painting and initial payments will remain the property of the artist.
